JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
~Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' physical, cognitive, sensory, and psycho-social abilities to determine their functional needs and limitations.
~Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, client goals, and evidence-based practice.
~Provide direct one-on-one therapy sessions to clients, implementing therapeutic interventions and activities to improve functional skills and promote independence.
~Teach and train clients in adaptive strategies, compensatory techniques, and the use of assistive devices to enhance their daily living skills.
~Design and recommend modifications to the client's environment or recommend adaptive equipment to support their engagement in meaningful activities.
~Collaborate with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to establish functional goals and develop strategies for achieving them.
~Monitor and evaluate client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
~Document and maintain accurate records of client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
~Provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers regarding home programs, activity modifications, and community resources.
~Advocate for clients' needs, rights, and accessibility in various settings, including home, school, workplace, and community.
~Stay updated with advancements in occupational therapy practices, techniques, and research through ongoing professional development and training.
~Collaborate with insurance companies and billing departments to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for services provided.
~Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client care.
~Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and interdisciplinary collaborations to discuss client progress and develop integrated treatment plans.
~Maintain a professional demeanor and effectively communicate with clients, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
State licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a clinical or rehabilitative setting.
Knowledge of assessments, treatment techniques, and interventions commonly used in Occupational Therapy.
Familiarity with adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients and their families.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to develop individualized treatment plans.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in documenting client sessions and maintaining accurate records.
Understanding of and commitment to ethical guidelines and confidentiality.
Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and treatment approaches.
Passion for helping individuals achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life through Occupational Therapy.

Sessions are developed based on initial comprehensive knowledge and performance assessments’ results and IEP review for children with disabilities in specific areas of needs. Each session is customized to boost individual students' strengths and learning styles while addressing challenging areas. Periodic and post assessments are scheduled into the learning process to inform of growth, needs, and next steps in the teaching and learning process, leading each student to their independent level.
